The first GoldStar Showcase was held in the summer of 2012 and began as a quest to improve the showcase experience for both the college coaches in attendance and the athletes participating. Common complaints regarding many showcases include: too many teams, too many complexes, shortened games times, non-competitive format, insufficient field maintenance, and poor quality/limited game balls.
To address these common issues, the GoldStar showcases include:
*Limited Size - When it comes to showcase events, bigger is not always better. We limit our showcase to a total of 72 teams.
*Longer Game Times with NO Drop Dead - Game times are 1 hour and 20 minutes, finish the inning .
*Competitive Format - Friday and Saturday games are seeded leading to a single elimination bracket on Sunday culminating in a tournament champion in each age division.
*Top Competition - We make every effort to invite the most competitive teams throughout the Southeast.
*Field Maintenance - Every game is important. Our field crews prepare every field for each and every game.
Many of the college coaches, travel team coaches, and even players and parents have told us that the format, competitiveness, and limited size made GoldStar their favorite showcase event of the summer.
